**NEW YORK, NY -** US President Joe Biden will dedicate the remaining four months of his term to bolstering Ukraine’s ability to prevail in its war against Russia, according to a close advisor.
Speaking remotely to a forum in Kyiv, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan announced that Biden will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in late September at the UN General Assembly in New York. The meeting will focus on further aid to Ukraine, Sullivan stated.
“President Zelenskyy has said that ultimately this war has to end through negotiations, and we need them to be strong in those negotiations,” Sullivan said, adding that Ukraine would decide when to engage in talks with Russia.
The announcement comes amidst ongoing efforts by the US to support Ukraine’s defense and ensure its ability to negotiate a favorable end to the conflict.
