**New Delhi:** Political drama continues in Delhi following Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s shock resignation announcement on Sunday. Kejriwal, facing corruption allegations and after being released from jail, said he would step down on September 17th, challenging the public to vote for him again if they believed in his honesty.

The AAP leader claimed the BJP’s charges against him and his former deputy, Manish Sisodia, were a ploy to weaken the party and control Delhi.

Speculation is rife about Kejriwal’s successor, with names like Atishi, Saurabh Bhardwaj, and Kailash Gahlot in the running. However, the BJP has been pushing the rumour that Kejriwal wants his wife, Sunita Kejriwal, to take over.

Kejriwal clarified that the new CM would come from within the party. A meeting of the AAP’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC) is scheduled for this evening at the Chief Minister’s residence, where the potential candidates will be discussed. The final decision will be made at a later meeting with the legislative party.

The PAC meeting is expected to be a significant event, with several key figures like Arvind Kejriwal, Bhagwant Mann, Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, Sandeep Pathak, Gopal Rai, Atishi, ND Gupta, Durghesh Pathak, Pankaj Gupta, Raghav Chadha, Imran Hussain, and Rakhi Birla in attendance.
