Mon Sep 16 16:13:32 UTC 2024: ## Arsenal’s Champions League Campaign Kicks Off With Trip to Italy

**London, August [Date]** – Arsenal will begin their UEFA Champions League 2024-25 campaign with an away fixture against Atalanta on September 20th. The Gunners, who have never lifted the prestigious trophy, are facing a revamped tournament format this season.

The new format features a league phase with 36 teams, including Arsenal, competing in eight matches against eight different opponents. The top eight teams will automatically qualify for the round of 16, while teams ranked 9th to 24th will compete in a two-legged play-off for the remaining spots.

Arsenal’s schedule includes a high-profile clash against French champions Paris Saint-Germain at the Emirates Stadium on October 2nd. They also face Italian champions Inter Milan on November 7th at the San Siro Stadium.

The Gunners will be without the services of Emile Smith Rowe, Eddie Nketiah, and Aaron Ramsdale, who have all joined other Premier League clubs. However, they have strengthened their squad with the additions of Raheem Sterling (on loan from Chelsea), Riccardo Calafiori, Mikel Merino, David Raya, and Neto.

The UCL league phase kicks off on September 17th and runs until January 30th. The knock-out stages will commence in February, culminating in the final at the Allianz Arena in Munich on May 31st.

Alongside their Champions League ambitions, Arsenal will be competing in the Premier League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup.
