Mon Sep 16 17:30:09 UTC 2024: ## Apple Rolls Out iOS 18: New Features and Supported Devices

**New Delhi, India** – Apple has officially released iOS 18, its latest mobile operating system, bringing a host of new features and enhancements. However, the update is not available for all iPhones, with older models like the iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus being left behind.

The highlight of iOS 18 is the introduction of **Apple Intelligence**, a suite of generative AI tools powered by the A17 Pro chip. These tools enable smarter Siri interactions, writing assistance, and image generation, but are only accessible on iPhone 15 Pro models and newer devices.

While not all iPhones receive the full AI experience, all eligible devices benefit from increased customisation options. Users can rearrange widgets, add larger icons, and personalize the Control Centre with more flexibility. Enhanced privacy features, such as the ability to lock or hide apps, are also available across the board.

The Messages app sees significant improvements with the addition of text scheduling, expanded emoji-based reactions, and enhanced satellite messaging for iPhone 14 models and newer. Improved RCS support will also enhance communication between iPhone and Android users.

Even older iPhones, like the iPhone 12 and iPhone 11, benefit from performance boosts and UI improvements. They will also receive most of the customisation options offered in iOS 18, making the update worthwhile.

To check if your iPhone is eligible for the update, navigate to Settings > General > Software Update. If your device is supported, you will see the option to download and install iOS 18.
