Sun Sep 15 14:15:31 UTC 2024: ## Apple Raises iPhone 16 Pro Battery Replacement Fee

**Cupertino, CA** – Apple has announced an increase in the out-of-warranty battery replacement fee for its new iPhone 16 Pro models. Replacing the battery in an iPhone 16 Pro or Pro Max will now cost $119, up from $99 for the iPhone 15 Pro models. This represents a 20% increase in the fee, which covers both the new battery and service by an Apple Store.

While the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models retain the $99 battery replacement fee, AppleCare+ subscribers can still get their iPhone 16 Pro batteries replaced for free, provided the battery retains less than 80% of its original capacity.

Apple has justified the price hike by pointing out that the new iPhone 16 models feature larger batteries and internal redesigns for improved heat dissipation. Rumors had circulated about a metal enclosure for some iPhone 16 batteries, but teardowns are still needed for confirmation.

This is the second battery replacement fee increase in recent years, with the fee previously jumping from $69 to $99 for the iPhone 14 models.

The new iPhone 16 models are available for pre-order now and will officially launch on Friday.
