**LOS ANGELES, CA** – Fifteen years after its release, the 2009 action film *Blood and Bone* remains a cult classic, captivating audiences with its raw fight choreography and star-studded cast. The film, directed by Ben Ramsey, is a testament to the power of grit and passion, showcasing the talent of many now-famous figures in the action genre.

The film’s success can be attributed, in part, to its cast, which includes Michael Jai White, Scott Adkins, Bob Sapp, Kimbo Slice, Gina Carano, and Matt Mullins. Behind the scenes, the team boasted a veritable who’s who of Hollywood stuntmen and fight choreographers including Sam Hargrave (director of *Extraction*), J.J. Perry (director of *Day Shift*), and Larnell Stovall (stunt coordinator for *The Continental*).

“It was pretty much a revisiting of ’70s moviemaking,” said Michael Jai White, who stars as Isaiah Bone and co-produced the film. “I would do everything on camera. There’s no camera stunts or tricks or what have you.” This dedication to real action resonated with audiences, particularly those who were captivated by the rise of MMA at the time.

Despite its low budget and tight schedule, *Blood and Bone* delivered thrilling fight sequences. The team’s dedication to realism, mixed with exciting “movie fu” choreography, gave the film a unique edge.

The film’s legacy lives on, with many of its stars and crew members going on to bigger and better things. But for many involved, the film holds a special place in their hearts, serving as a stepping stone to a successful career in Hollywood.

“We had such a short time to shoot. A lot of big martial arts movies famously had like a whole week or two weeks doing one fight scene, and we would get on set and just have a few hours,” said director Ben Ramsey.

“We beat up 50,000 motherfuckers in like five days with three cameras,” added J.J. Perry, the film’s second unit director and stunt coordinator.

Looking back, the cast and crew reflect fondly on the camaraderie and passion they shared on set. They credit *Blood and Bone* with opening doors and shaping their careers.

“I think I was probably too young and caught up in the moment to realize who’s who, the list that I had the honor to be in the midst of,” said Sam Hargrave. “But you look back and go wow — if you combine all of the resumes of these people, it’s one of the most impressive lineups in action cinema history.”

Today, *Blood and Bone* continues to entertain audiences and inspire aspiring action stars. The film serves as a reminder of the power of raw talent, grit, and a shared love for the genre.

**Blood and Bone is available to watch on Netflix, for free with ads on Tubi, or for digital rental on Amazon and Apple TV.**
