**PUTRAJAYA, Sept 16** – Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has urged Malaysians to address differences of opinion with respect and etiquette, citing the example of Prophet Muhammad’s noble character as a model for society.
Speaking at the “Malam Cinta Rasul” event organized by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), Zahid emphasized the importance of unity, particularly in light of global challenges. He stressed the need to “manage our positions within the community or organisation with the best etiquette,” advocating for a “tasawwuf” (good conduct) approach to handling differences.
“The world views Malaysia as an example,” Zahid stated, highlighting the importance of conveying messages effectively and respectfully, particularly in religious teachings.
While celebrating the Prophet’s birthday, Zahid also called for solidarity with those facing hardship, particularly Palestinians. “Let us as the Malaysian ummah provide full support to them by donating whatever we can,” he urged.
The “Malam Cinta Rasul” event, attended by over 50,000 people, featured lectures on the life of Prophet Muhammad by prominent religious figures.
The national-level Maulidur Rasul celebration, themed “Al-Falah Pemacu Malaysia Madani,” will be held on Monday at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC). The event will be graced by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, and Her Majesty the Queen, Raja Zarith Sofiah, along with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife.
