**New Delhi:** Delhi Police have busted a major fake visa racket operating in the city for the past five years, with the arrest of six individuals and the seizure of thousands of forged documents, including passports and visas.

The investigation began after a man from Haryana, Sandeep, was apprehended at Delhi airport attempting to fly to Italy on a fake Swedish visa. Sandeep revealed that he purchased the forged document for Rs 10 lakh from an agent named Asif Ali.

A subsequent raid on a factory in Tilak Nagar, run by graphic designer Manoj Monga, unearthed a sophisticated operation producing counterfeit visas for various countries. Monga, who was inspired by an associate named Jaideep Singh, started the operation five years ago. He was equipped with advanced technology and was able to produce a fake visa sticker in just 20 minutes.

The gang, which communicated through encrypted messaging apps like Telegram, Signal, and WhatsApp, had a network of local agents across different regions. They charged between Rs 8-10 lakh for each fake visa and are estimated to have generated over Rs 300 crore through their illegal activities.

Police have recovered 16 Nepali passports, two Indian passports, 30 visa stickers, 23 visa stamps, and a vast array of equipment used in forging documents, including dye machines, printers, laminating sheets, laptops, and UV machines.

“We have arrested six people so far, and the investigation is ongoing,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police, IGI Airport Usha Rangrani. “This case highlights the need for increased vigilance and robust security measures at airports and other entry points to combat the growing menace of counterfeit documents.”
