**Ahmedabad, India -** Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate India’s first ‘Vande Metro’ service connecting Ahmedabad and Bhuj on Monday, September 14th. This fully air-conditioned, unreserved train will offer a faster and more comfortable travel option for passengers.
The ‘Vande Metro’ concept, inspired by the popular Vande Bharat high-speed train, boasts modern features like the ‘KAVACH’ anti-collision system and advanced technology. The train will cover the 360 km distance in 5 hours and 45 minutes, reaching a top speed of 110 km/hr. The service will operate six days a week, departing Bhuj at 5:05 AM and arriving at Ahmedabad Junction at 10:50 AM.
The ‘Vande Metro’ will make stops at nine stations along the route, offering passengers an efficient and convenient travel experience. Tickets can be purchased from the counter shortly before departure.
This new service is expected to significantly improve regional connectivity in Gujarat and promote tourism. The ‘Vande Metro’ is a testament to India’s commitment to developing modern and efficient transportation infrastructure.
In addition to launching the ‘Vande Metro’, PM Modi will inaugurate several development projects worth over Rs. 8,000 crore in Ahmedabad. He will also inaugurate the second phase of the Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar metro rail service and attend the 4th edition of the Global Renewable Energy Investors Meet and Expo (RE-INVEST 2024).
