**KOLKATA, INDIA -** The deadlock between junior doctors and the West Bengal government over the brutal rape and murder of a junior doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital last month continued on Saturday. A delegation of doctors who went to meet Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at her residence were denied a meeting due to their insistence on video recording or live streaming the proceedings.

The doctors’ request was met with rejection by the government, who stated that only the government would be responsible for videography.

The protest outside the state health department headquarters in Salt Lake, now in its fifth day, demands justice for the murdered doctor and includes calls for greater safety measures for medical personnel. The doctors maintain their demand for transparency and accountability during the meeting with the Chief Minister, highlighting their lack of trust in the government’s handling of the case.
