**Jamestown, ND** – The Jamestown Area Grief Support Team (JAGST) is offering a unique opportunity for widows to find comfort and connection at their upcoming Widow’s Retreat, scheduled for October 4-6 at the Maryvale Retreat Center in Valley City, North Dakota.
The retreat, inspired by the words of Genevieve Davis Ginsburg in her book “Widow to Widow”, aims to provide a safe space for women who have experienced the loss of their husbands to connect with others who understand their unique journey. Whether grieving a recent loss or dealing with the long-term impact of their husband’s passing, widows will have the chance to share their experiences, learn coping skills, and access helpful resources.
The retreat will feature a special guest speaker, Jeanne Putnam, along with a panel of JAGST members who are themselves widows. Participants will engage in personal sharing, group discussions, a Service of Remembrance, a workshop on personal and cyber safety, and more. There will be ample time for informal interaction and private reflection amidst the tranquil Maryvale grounds.
The cost of the retreat is $175 and includes two nights lodging in a private room, five meals, and all supplies.
“This retreat is an opportunity for widows to immerse themselves in healing, away from distractions, in a relaxing, supportive, and positively charged atmosphere with others who have experienced the loss of a husband,” stated a JAGST spokesperson.
