Manchester United bounced back from their disappointing loss to Liverpool with a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium on Saturday.

The Red Devils took the lead early in the second half when Matthijs de Ligt scored his first goal for the club. Marcus Rashford then doubled the advantage with a strike from outside the box before the break.

Southampton were reduced to 10 men late in the second half when Jack Stephens was shown a red card for bringing down Alejandro Garnacho. The Argentine winger then sealed the victory with a stunning goal in the final moments of the game, sending the ball into the roof of the net after a Diogo Dalot pull-back.

Garnacho, who celebrated his goal with a recreation of his idol’s famous celebration, was a constant threat throughout the game and played a key role in securing the three points for Erik ten Hag’s side. The win will provide a much-needed boost for Manchester United as they head into the international break.
