Fri Sep 13 19:16:00 UTC 2024: ## Lebanon Tigers Soccer Team Dominates Western Boone in Sagamore Conference Match
**Lebanon, IN** – The Lebanon Tigers soccer team continued their impressive run in the Sagamore Conference with a resounding 6-0 victory over Western Boone on Thursday. The win marked the Tigers’ third straight conference win, putting them at 3-0 in the conference and 4-4-1 overall.
The Tigers showcased their offensive prowess, scoring a season-high six goals, with five different players contributing. Lebanon’s attack proved diverse, utilizing speed, set pieces, and long-range shots to overwhelm the Stars defense.
“We got a lot of guys playing time, and we are really clicking right now at the right time,” said Lebanon head coach Scott Milam. “We took extra time to work on corners and set pieces, and were able to score on those. If we can use all those different facets and be dangerous in multiple ways, it’s going to be a lot more difficult for teams to defend us.”
The Stars, who entered the game on a positive trajectory, struggled to find an answer against the dominant Tigers. Western Boone head coach Shane Conner acknowledged the Tigers’ strength while remaining positive about his team’s prospects. “We played hard and we give it our all every time we’re on the pitch. We just have to bring it all together,” he said.
Lebanon established a commanding 2-0 lead within the first 10 minutes, thanks to goals from Max Velazquez and Brandt Mezo. The Tigers continued their dominance, with Ylljon Emerllahu and Velazquez adding goals before halftime, putting them up 4-0. Logan Huntsman and Daniel Richards capped the scoring in the second half.
Despite the loss, Conner highlighted the Stars’ improved defensive performance in the second half. “We told the guys at halftime that it was their game,” he said. “They did a better job of that. This season, we have been a second half team, but we gave up those early goals and couldn’t come back.”
Both teams now look ahead to their next conference matchups. Western Boone travels to Danville on Monday, while Lebanon faces a crucial game against Tri-West on Tuesday.
“We are really going to focus on our mentality and make sure we go into the game prepared,” said Milam. “It’s a big conference decider and we have to make sure we are ready mentally and physically.”
