**SIERRA VISTA, AZ** – The Sierra Vista City Council has approved a $36,000 grant from the Tohono O’odham Nation to purchase new airbag lifting equipment for emergency services. The life-saving equipment will be used for vehicle stabilization, building collapse, and heavy rescue operations, particularly when individuals are trapped beneath vehicles.
The council voted to accept the grant during their regular meeting last Thursday. The funding was awarded through the Tohono O’odham Nation’s 12% Distribution Grant program.
