**AMSTERDAM, Sept. 13, 2024** – Segway and TIER-Dott, global leaders in sustainable micromobility, have joined forces to promote green transportation in Paris during the recent summer events. This collaboration saw the offer of 10,000 free e-bike rides to boost ridership and demonstrate the convenience and environmental benefits of micromobility.
TIER-Dott, a world-leading operator in shared micromobility, deployed 15,000 e-bikes from July 26 to September 8, contributing to Paris’s efforts to improve urban living and reduce its environmental footprint. Over this period, these e-bikes facilitated 1 million rides, covering 3.3 million kilometers, with 500,000 riders, including 48,000 first-time users of TIER-Dott.
Segway provided the vehicle solution for the 15,000 e-bikes and also partnered with TIER-Dott to offer the free rides. This collaboration resulted in positive feedback on TIER-Dott’s Paris fleet. Segway’s on-site technical support helped manage the high demand for the service, further highlighting the effectiveness of their partnership.
“By expanding our offerings to include free rides, we aimed to demonstrate the practical benefits and efficiency of e-bike services,” stated Alan Zhao, Director at Segway. “Paris’s significant investment in cycling infrastructure, supported by progressive government policies, facilitated this large-scale adoption of sustainable transport solutions.”
The success of this “Summer Free Ride Campaign” is a testament to the growing global embrace of green mobility. This partnership offers a promising model for other urban centers, particularly in light of the European Green Deal, which aims for climate neutrality by 2050.
Segway remains committed to advancing vehicle solutions for a safer, smarter, and greener transportation ecosystem. The company has already partnered with over 240 shared micromobility operators worldwide, delivering over 2 million shared micromobility vehicles, including over one million iconic Max series shared e-scooters.
