**RIDGWAY, PA** – A school bus accident on Million Dollar Highway in Fox Township on Thursday morning resulted in three injuries. According to Pennsylvania State Police, a sport-utility vehicle driven by Corinne Pape, 23, of Penfield, rear-ended a stopped school bus driven by Grace Heiberger, 73, of Weedville, at 7:01 a.m.
The bus, with its stop sign extended and red lights flashing, was letting a child board when the SUV collided with its rear. The bus sustained minor damage, and two of the 13 students on board sustained minor injuries but were treated at the scene and not hospitalized.
Pape sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported to Penn Highlands Elk by Fox Township Ambulance. Her SUV sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Police have charged Pape with meeting or overtaking a school bus.
This incident highlights the importance of driver awareness and caution around school buses, particularly when children are present.
