Sony Pictures has officially announced the North American release date for “Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom,” the upcoming film based on the popular anime series. The film, which continues the story from the fourth season of the anime, will premiere in theaters across North America on **November 8, 2024**.

“Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom” follows the adventures of Momonga, a man who finds himself transported into the virtual reality world of his favorite MMORPG, becoming the powerful Sorcerer King Ains Ooal Gown. The movie focuses on the “Holy Kingdom,” a peaceful realm threatened by the invasion of the Demon Emperor Jaldabaoth and his army of demi-humans.

Faced with imminent danger, the neighboring Slane Theocracy pleads for help from the Sorcerer Kingdom. Momonga, leading his undead army, answers the call, uniting forces with the Sacred Kingdom and the Slane Theocracy to fight against the Demon Emperor.

The film is directed by Naoyuki Ito, with Yukie Sugawara serving as script coordinator. Shuji Katayama composed the music, while Satoshi Tasaki handled character designs and chief animation, and So-bin provided illustrations.

“Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom” will be released in both Japanese and English subtitled versions, along with an English dubbed version. For Japanese fans, the film will debut earlier on September 20, 2024.
