Sat Sep 14 11:57:26 UTC 2024: ## Suryakumar Yadav Celebrates 34th Birthday with T20I Captaincy and Injury Recovery

**New Delhi, October 4:** India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav turned 34 on Saturday, with birthday wishes pouring in from fans, teammates, and BCCI officials. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah took to social media to express his excitement about seeing Suryakumar lead the team to more victories in the shortest format.

“Happy Birthday to our T20I skipper and Mr. 360 with the bat, @surya_14kumar! I’m excited to see you lead the Men in Blue to many victories in the shortest format. Best wishes for the year ahead!” Shah wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

Suryakumar, who currently holds the top ranking in the men’s T20I batting rankings, made cricketing history with his stunning relay catch at long-off in the T20 World Cup final against South Africa earlier this year. This crucial catch contributed to India’s victory, ending an 11-year drought of global titles.

The right-handed batsman has been sidelined with a hand injury sustained during a recent tournament but is expected to return to action for the upcoming three T20I matches against Bangladesh in October. The series will be played in Gwalior, New Delhi, and Hyderabad on October 6, 9, and 12 respectively.

Since his international debut in 2021, Suryakumar has consistently established himself as a force to be reckoned with in T20I cricket, while his ODI and Test careers are still developing. He received heartfelt birthday wishes from his wife Devisha Shetty, who praised him as “my best friend, husband, lover, my world and the best decision of my life!” on her Instagram account.

Fans and cricket enthusiasts alike are eagerly awaiting Suryakumar’s return to the field and expect him to lead the Indian team to further success in the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh.
