Sat Sep 14 14:17:22 UTC 2024: ## India Edges Past Pakistan in Thrilling Asian Champions Trophy Encounter

**Moqi, China** – In a highly anticipated clash, India emerged victorious over their arch-rivals Pakistan, securing a 2-1 win in their final pool-stage match of the Men’s Asia Champions Trophy Hockey. The victory ensured India’s unbeaten run in the tournament, topping the points table and securing a semi-final berth.

Captain Harmanpreet Singh was the hero for India, scoring a brace in the 13th and 19th minutes. Pakistan, however, put up a strong fight, with Ahmad Nadeem scoring the lone goal in the 8th minute.

The match was a tense affair, with both teams playing with intensity and passion. India’s performance was slightly below par, according to midfielder Nilakanta Sharma, who admitted they were not entirely happy with the display. He attributed the lackluster performance to the fact that Pakistan managed to draw India into individual battles, dragging them down to their level.

Despite the unconvincing win, India’s strong showing in the tournament, with 19 goals scored and only three conceded in their previous four matches, signifies their overall dominance.

This victory marks India’s 17th consecutive win against Pakistan, extending their unbeaten run against their arch-rivals since 2016.

The Asian Champions Trophy 2024 continues on Monday, with India facing Korea in the semi-finals. Pakistan will take on hosts China in the other semi-final clash.
