**Madrid, Spain:** A joint ministerial meeting in Madrid, attended by representatives from several countries including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Türkiye, and Spain, issued a statement reaffirming their commitment to implementing the two-state solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The statement was welcomed by Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), who reiterated the GCC’s strong support for the Palestinian people’s right to sovereignty over all territories occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem. The GCC also advocated for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state and the return of Palestinian refugees, in line with the Arab Peace Initiative and international resolutions.
The statement also called for the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, including the Philadelphi corridor, and urged the international community to actively support the two-state solution, including universal recognition of the State of Palestine and its full membership in the United Nations.
The Muslim World League (MWL) also welcomed the statement, with Secretary-General Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa emphasizing the importance of empowering the Palestinian government and securing their legitimate rights. Al-Issa called for an immediate, unconditional delivery of humanitarian aid to Palestinians and urged all parties to comply with international humanitarian law. He specifically condemned settlement activities, land confiscation, and the displacement of Palestinians, calling for a halt to these actions.
The Madrid meeting highlighted the continued international push for a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and underscored the growing support for a two-state solution based on international law and the fulfillment of the rights of both Palestinians and Israelis.
