Fri Sep 13 15:55:57 UTC 2024: ## Delhi Flooded: Rain Disrupts Traffic, Causes Widespread Waterlogging

**New Delhi, September 13:** Heavy rainfall on Friday caused widespread waterlogging in parts of Delhi, leading to significant traffic snarls. Areas like NH-48, MB Road, Mathura Road, Rohtak Road, and Mundka were severely affected.

The Delhi Traffic Police took to X (formerly Twitter) to warn commuters of the traffic disruptions. They advised those travelling on NH-48 to avoid Dhaula Kuan towards Mahipalpur due to waterlogging at GGR PDR. Similar advisories were issued for MB Road near Sainik Farm and Saket Metro Station, and Mathura Road near Madanpur Khadar.

The Public Works Department (PWD) received 85 complaints regarding waterlogging, with Mundka being the most severely affected. The PWD is currently working to clear the waterlogging in the area. They also received 13 complaints about fallen trees.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) received 29 complaints about waterlogging and 15 about fallen trees.

Commuters took to X to express their frustration with the traffic situation, highlighting heavy congestion in various areas, including Sankriti School, Embassy Area, Delhi Gurgaon Road near Mahipalpur, Behra Enclave, Paschim Vihar, Patel Nagar roundabout, Sangam Vihar towards Badarpur, Aurobindo Marg, Najafgarh Phirni Road, and MG Road.

A large pothole on Old Pankha Road also added to the traffic chaos on the carriageway from T-Point Uttam Nagar East metro station towards Pankha Road.

Authorities are advising commuters to avoid affected areas and plan their journeys accordingly.
