Fri Sep 13 15:36:00 UTC 2024: ## AIFF President Receives Threatening Call, Files Police Complaint

**New Delhi, India** – The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has filed a police complaint alleging that its president, Kalyan Chaubey, received threatening calls on September 10th. The complaint, filed at the Dwarka Police Station, details the harassment experienced by Chaubey and his family.

According to the AIFF, an unidentified individual called the federation’s office and threatened Chaubey’s life and property. The caller warned Chaubey to be cautious about his decisions and actions, indicating knowledge of his family’s whereabouts in Kolkata.

The caller also threatened the safety of Chaubey’s family, stating they were aware of their location. Despite attempts to ascertain the caller’s identity, the individual hung up before revealing their name.

This incident comes amidst a turbulent year for Chaubey. In March, former AIFF legal head, Nilanjan Bhattacharjee, accused Chaubey of corruption, alleging financial mismanagement and personal use of AIFF funds. Chaubey vehemently denied these accusations in a letter to AIFF members.

While the police investigation into the threatening calls is ongoing, this incident highlights the pressure surrounding Chaubey’s leadership of the AIFF. The federation is now seeking to ensure the safety of its president and his family in light of these serious threats.
