Thu Sep 12 01:33:00 UTC 2024: ## Beyoncé Skips VMAs Despite Record-Breaking Nominations

Despite holding the record for most VMA wins and receiving two nominations for the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, Beyoncé did not attend the ceremony.

Beyoncé, nominated for Song of the Year for “Texas Hold ‘Em” and Most Iconic Performance for her 2011 “Love on Top” performance, chose to prioritize the music itself, saying in a recent interview with GQ that visuals can sometimes distract from the music’s quality. She explained that the four-year effort that went into her latest album deserves to be appreciated purely for its musicality.

“The music is enough,” she stated. “The fans from all over the world became the visual. We all got the visual on tour. We then got more visuals from my film.”

While fans are disappointed to not see Queen Bey at the VMAs, the superstar is undoubtedly in a league of her own, regardless of awards or appearances.
