**Claremore, OK** – The Claremore Lady Zebras suffered a 5-3 loss to the Pryor Tigerettes in a District 5A-3 matchup on Thursday. Despite a three-run homer by junior Avery Hyde in the fifth inning, the Lady Zebras were unable to hold off a late surge from Pryor.

Hyde’s home run gave Claremore a 3-0 lead, but Pryor responded with a decisive five-run rally in the top of the sixth inning. Rhymee Rutherford’s two-run double proved to be the key blow, giving the Tigerettes a 5-3 lead they held onto for the victory.

The Lady Zebras had a strong offensive performance, with Bella Weaver leading the team with 3 hits. Grace Weaver and Riley Fay also contributed multiple hits, with Claremore tallying 12 hits for the game. However, Pryor matched that total with 13 hits, including two each from Payton Jackson, Neveah Chupp, Kenzie Bennett and Akiya Tsosie.

Amaeli Foster pitched a complete game for Claremore, allowing five runs on 13 hits. Coda Taylor earned the win for Pryor, striking out seven and allowing 12 hits over seven innings.

Despite a solid defensive performance, including a double play and six plays by Sydnee Bass, the Lady Zebras were unable to contain the Tigerettes’ late-game surge. The loss drops Claremore to 16-8 overall and 3-3 in district play, while Pryor improves to 15-2 and 6-0.
