**ABUJA, NIGERIA -** The House of Representatives has postponed its resumption date from September 17 to September 24, 2024, according to a memo from the Clerk of the House, Yahaya Danzaria. The lawmakers embarked on their annual vacation on July 23 and were initially scheduled to reconvene next week.
House Spokesman Akin Rotimi confirmed the postponement, stating that members have been engaged in “constituency outreach across the country,” addressing local concerns and overseeing government agencies.
The House leadership will use the extended recess to inaugurate the new board of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) and the Joint Senate/House Ad Hoc Committees on the Petroleum Industry Investigation on September 25.
Upon reconvening, the House plans to continue driving its legislative agenda, focusing on “impactful reforms aimed at national development,” Rotimi stated.
