**SEATTLE, WA -** Kumar Rocker, the son of Tennessee Titans defensive line coach Tracy Rocker, will make his major league debut tonight with the Texas Rangers, starting against the Seattle Mariners. The right-hander, who was the No. 3 overall pick in the 2022 draft, has been recovering from Tommy John surgery and has had a strong season in the minors with a 1.96 ERA.
Rocker’s journey to the majors has been impressive. He pitched for Triple-A Round Rock, allowing only two runs over 10 innings in two starts.
To make room for Rocker, the Rangers designated right-hander Chase Anderson for assignment. Anderson, 36, has struggled this season with a 5.40 ERA in 29 appearances for the Boston Red Sox and Rangers.
Rocker’s father, Tracy, is expected to attend his son’s major league debut in Seattle, making the occasion even more special for the Rocker family.
The Rangers will be hoping that Rocker can continue his impressive form and become a key part of their pitching staff moving forward.
