**Nottingham, UK** – Nottinghamshire Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who assaulted a cyclist in a “despicable random attack.” The incident occurred on March 9th at approximately 4am on Nottingham Road in Toton.

Footage captured by the cyclist’s bike camera shows a man hanging out of the window of a silver Peugeot van before pushing the cyclist off his bike. The victim sustained facial injuries, bruising to his arms and legs, a swollen knee, and damage to his bike.

“This was a nasty unprovoked assault on a man cycling to work,” stated PC Jon Lingard of Nottinghamshire Police. “It’s fortunate that he didn’t sustain more serious injuries following this despicable random attack.”

Police have already pursued several lines of inquiry, including those related to the van driver and registered keeper. They are now releasing the footage in hopes that someone recognizes the man pictured and contacts them. The suspect is also encouraged to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 137 of March 9, 2024.
