Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a heartfelt gesture from Paralympian Navdeep Singh during an interaction with the Indian contingent of the Paris Paralympics. The gold medal-winning javelin thrower presented the PM with a blue cap and requested his autograph, prompting the PM to sit down on the floor to receive the gift.
“A very touching gesture by my friend and India’s pride, Navdeep Singh!” Modi tweeted.
The Prime Minister also received a special gift from another Paralympic gold medalist, Harvinder Singh, who presented him with the arrow he used to win his medal in Paris.
The Indian contingent concluded their successful Paralympics campaign in Paris with a record haul of 29 medals, including 7 golds, 9 silvers, and 13 bronzes. The team achieved several “firsts” at the games, conquering new sports and rewriting records.
