**Ibadan, Nigeria** – The Oyo State Primary Health Care Board has commenced a recruitment process with a two-day computer-based test for candidates vying for various positions. The examination is being held at the University of Ibadan Distance Learning Centre in Ajibode, Ibadan.
This recruitment drive is aimed at addressing the shortage of human resources in the state’s primary health sector. The State Commissioner for Health, Dr Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi, highlighted the importance of this initiative, emphasizing that it will further enhance the quality of healthcare delivery in Oyo State.
The Chairman of the Oyo State House Committee on Health, Saminu Badamosi, praised Governor Seyi Makinde for approving the recruitment, which he described as a testament to the governor’s commitment to the health sector.
The Executive Secretary of the Oyo State Primary Health Care Board, Dr Muyideen Olatunji, explained that the recruitment was prompted by a significant gap in human resources identified by the board’s Minimum Service Package document. He also pointed out that the state government has renovated and equipped 264 Primary Health Centres (PHCs) across Oyo State, ready to be staffed by the newly recruited personnel.
The recruitment process involves a two-day computer-based test, followed by an oral interview. Candidates who applied in 2021 are currently participating in the examination.
