**Kyiv, Ukraine** – American actor Michael Douglas, best known for his role in “Basic Instinct,” has visited Kyiv, Ukraine, to attend the Fourth First Ladies and Gentlemen Summit organized by First Lady Olena Zelenska. The actor, accompanied by his 24-year-old son Dylan, spent two days touring the capital, taking in historical sites and meeting with Ukrainian leaders.
While the city’s architecture impressed Douglas, he was particularly struck by a historical fact: Kyiv is older than Moscow. “I was told this at the Lavra,” Douglas said, referring to the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Douglas also visited the Okhmatdyt children’s hospital, which was tragically hit by a Russian missile in July, as well as the Kyiv Cave Monastery and the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II. He expressed a deep interest in Ukrainian history and culture.
The actor and his son participated in a discussion on child safety at the summit, with Douglas joining as a UN Goodwill Ambassador.
This visit demonstrates Douglas’s support for Ukraine and its people in the face of ongoing conflict. His presence in Kyiv, particularly during the summit, highlights the importance of international solidarity in times of crisis.
