**Kelowna, BC** – This Saturday, September 21st, the Okanagan Volunteer Fair will take place at the Parkinson Recreation Centre from 10 am to 2 pm. Over 60 local non-profit organizations will be present, showcasing the many ways individuals can get involved and make a difference in the community.
The event is a chance for individuals looking to give back to find a new purpose and connect with organizations that align with their passions.
**A Variety of Opportunities Await**
From supporting literacy initiatives with Project Literacy, to helping those with diverse abilities through Pathways Abilities Society, the fair offers a wide range of volunteer roles.
For example, the Kelowna Gospel Mission is seeking volunteers for their annual Day of Recovery Event, while Childhood Connections needs drivers for their Nourish Program and mentors for local youth. Niteo Africa Society is looking for book lovers to become Reading Mentors, and CNIB invites individuals to become Vision Mates, offering companionship and assistance to those who are blind or partially sighted.
**Free Admission, Rich Rewards**
The Okanagan Volunteer Fair offers free admission, with the opportunity to learn about a variety of organizations and discover the rewarding experience of volunteering.
“It’s a great opportunity to find your purpose and make a real difference in our community,” says Dorothee Birker, communications & development manager for KCR Community Resources. “We encourage everyone to come out and explore the many ways they can give back.”
