**Ilesa, Osun State -** A young woman, identified only as a new tenant, has vanished with two young children in the Igando area of Ilesa, Osun State, causing widespread panic and concern. The children, aged four and two, were last seen with the woman on Saturday, after she cleaned her rented room in a “face-me-and-face-you” building.
According to the distraught mothers, Funke Komolafe and Itunu Joseph, the woman, described as fair-skinned with a low haircut and fixed nails, befriended the children and then disappeared with them. The woman reportedly paid six months’ rent to another tenant, who informed the landlord, leading to the approval of her tenancy without a proper vetting process.
The mothers recounted that the woman, who claimed to be pregnant and tired, spent several hours playing with the children before taking them to her room. The woman then allegedly left the building with the children, telling neighbours she was going to buy them something. She then boarded a motorcycle at the junction, leaving the mothers in a state of terror.
The missing woman was last seen transferring to another motorcycle at the Adeti area of Ilesa, leaving no trace. The concerned mothers have reported the incident to the police and the Osun State Amotekun Corps. The state corps commander, Adekunle Omoyele, confirmed the incident and assured that they are working tirelessly to locate the woman and the children.
This alarming incident has shaken the Igando community, raising questions about the security measures in place for tenants. The authorities are urging anyone with information about the missing woman or the children to come forward immediately.
