The Grand Junction Tiger golf team took home the championship at the Durango/Dalton Ranch Invitational on Tuesday, thanks to a strong performance from their top players.
The Tigers, led by Kyle Korte, Hunter Simmons, and Jack Kaul, shot a team score of 220, 12 strokes ahead of second-place Montezuma/Cortez (232) and host team Durango (236).
Korte secured the tournament medalist title with a one-under par 71. Simmons and Durango’s Drew Jepson both shot 74, while Kaul rounded out the top performers with a score of 75.
The Montrose Red Hawks finished in sixth place with a team score of 257.
