Thu Sep 12 06:55:57 UTC 2024: ## New Initiative Aims to Build “Safe Super Intelligence” as AI Adoption Grows

**New Delhi, Sep 12** – As artificial general intelligence (AGI) gains momentum globally, a new collaborative group has emerged, focusing on building a “safe super intelligence” (SSI). This groundbreaking initiative, spearheaded by AI innovator Vinay Kumar Sankarapu, aims to bring together a diverse group of academics, developers, startups, enterprises, and VCs to research, develop, and nurture the future of safe AGI.

“The real adoption of AGI will only happen when it is acceptable by all stakeholders – explainable, stable, and reliable,” said Sankarapu, CEO and Founder of Arya.ai. “We aim to build an open source research community to crowd-source ideas and solve critical problems, laying the foundation for achieving safe super intelligence.”

The SSI group, with members in the US, India, Singapore, and the UK, will dedicate two-thirds of its efforts to research and one-third to applied machine learning. The initiative seeks to foster collaboration among enterprises, academia, VCs, and the developer community to create a sustainable SSI ecosystem.

Sankarapu, a graduate of IIT Bombay, has been a pioneer in the AI space, playing a key role in India’s AI development. His expertise led to his inclusion in the Commerce and Industry Minister’s ‘Task Force on Artificial Intelligence for Economic Transformation’ in 2017.

This initiative, a joint effort by Arya.ai, Nayyan Mujadiya, and Nikhil Agarwal, underscores the growing importance of AI in shaping the future. As countries like India, a founding member of the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI), prioritize AI development, ensuring safe and ethical development remains paramount.
