Thu Sep 12 09:37:00 UTC 2024: ## Caitlin Clark Clarifies: “Like” on Taylor Swift’s Kamala Harris Post Doesn’t Mean Endorsement
Iowa Fever star Caitlin Clark has clarified her stance on the upcoming U.S. presidential election after liking a Taylor Swift Instagram post endorsing Kamala Harris. While many assumed Clark’s “like” was an endorsement of Harris, Clark explained that her intention was to encourage voter registration and informed decision-making.
“I have this amazing platform, so I think the biggest thing would be just encourage people to register to vote,” Clark said. “It’s the second time I can vote in an election… I think [voter registration], that’s the biggest thing I can do with the platform that I have. That’s the same thing Taylor [Swift] did. I think continue to educate yourself with the candidates that we have, the policies that they’re supporting. I think that’s the biggest thing you can do.”
Clark’s response echoes that of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who also emphasized voter registration and informed decision-making during a recent press conference.
Despite the loss to the Aces on Wednesday, the Fever, who are currently on a 6-2 run, will look to build momentum for the playoffs. Their next game is against the Aces on Friday, followed by season-ending matchups against the Wings and Mystics. The WNBA playoffs will begin on September 22nd.
