**Udaipur, India:** The first delivery of the iconic BSA Gold Star 650 has been made, with the motorcycle finding a home in the prestigious collection of Prince Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur. The Prince, known for his passion for vintage automobiles, has welcomed the Gold Star as a welcome addition to his stable.
The Gold Star, a direct competitor to the Royal Enfield 650 twins, boasts a unique 652cc single cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 45 bhp and 55 Nm of torque. This “thumper” engine, a collaboration between Rotax and Riccardo engineering, provides a distinct character to the motorcycle.
Prince Mewar opted for the iconic Silver Sheen-Legacy edition, a chrome-laden, silver model that embodies the brand’s heritage. The Gold Star is offered in six different color options to suit individual tastes.
Despite its classic aesthetics, the Gold Star remains modern with features like dual-channel ABS and Brembo brakes. The bike prioritizes a raw riding experience, offering minimal electronics to evoke a vintage feel.
The BSA Gold Star 650 is priced competitively, starting at Rs 2.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and going up to Rs 3.34 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Legacy edition. The bike faces competition from the Royal Enfield Interceptor and Continental GT 650, Triumph Speed 400, and the Kawasaki Z650RS.
