Thu Sep 12 10:22:00 UTC 2024: ## Billie Eilish Snubs MTV VMAs Despite Triple Nomination
Pop star Billie Eilish, known for her summer hit “Birds of a Feather,” was a notable absentee at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards held on September 11th. The 22-year-old singer was nominated in three categories: Song of the Summer (for both “Birds of a Feather” and her feature on Charli XCX’s “Guess”), Video of the Year, and Video for Good.
Eilish, whose third album released earlier this year achieved immense success, reaching number two on the Billboard 200 and placing all ten tracks within the Billboard Hot 100, chose to skip the star-studded event. While fans expressed disappointment over her limited nominations, some urged her to boycott the awards show altogether.
Despite her absence, Eilish managed to win the Video for Good award for her track “What Was I Made For” from the “Barbie” film.
While the reason behind Eilish’s absence remains unconfirmed, the pop star has not released any statement regarding her decision.
