Fri Sep 13 16:57:19 UTC 2024: ## Kejriwal Granted Bail in Liquor Scam, Congress Demands Resignation
**New Delhi:** Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been granted conditional bail by the Supreme Court in the ongoing liquor scam case. The Congress party has reacted strongly to the development, demanding Kejriwal’s resignation, stating he has no moral right to remain in office.
Delhi Pradesh Congress President Devendra Yadav acknowledged the Supreme Court’s decision as part of the judicial process, stating that everyone should have faith in the legal system. However, he stressed that the bail does not exonerate Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, or Sanjay Singh from the allegations, as the case remains under investigation.
Yadav also pointed out that the bail is conditional, and Kejriwal has not been given a clean chit. He emphasized that the AAP’s claim of victory is misleading, as the Chief Minister is still under investigation and cannot effectively fulfill his duties.
The Congress leader further criticized Kejriwal’s continued presence in office, calling it “shameful” and demanding his immediate resignation on moral grounds.
The Supreme Court has mandated that Kejriwal’s passport be surrendered and that he must appear before the investigating officer every Monday and Thursday.
The liquor scam case continues to unfold, with Kejriwal and his party facing intense scrutiny over their alleged involvement in irregularities during the implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy.
