Fri Sep 13 16:57:22 UTC 2024: ## Kejriwal Released From Jail After Six Months: “My Courage Has Increased 100 Times”
**New Delhi, September 13, 2024:** Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was released from Tihar Jail today after spending almost six months behind bars. He was arrested in March 2024 by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor policy.
Kejriwal was granted bail by the Supreme Court on Thursday, with certain conditions including a bail bond of ₹10 lakh. Upon his release, he addressed the media and declared, “Today, I have come out of jail. My courage has increased 100 times. The walls of the jail couldn’t weaken Kejriwal’s courage. I will continue to walk on the right path and pray to God to guide me. My fight against all the forces that are trying to destabilize the country and create division among people will continue. I have faced many hardships in my life. God has always been my support. I am an honest man, and this time too, God saved me.”
The release comes on the heels of the Supreme Court granting bail to Delhi’s former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and BRS MLC Kavitha in the same case. AAP supporters had expressed optimism about Kejriwal’s release, believing he would soon receive bail as well.
Kejriwal’s release has sparked a wave of celebration among AAP supporters, who gathered in large numbers at Tihar Jail to welcome him. His supporters believe his imprisonment was politically motivated and a ploy to suppress his party’s rising popularity.
With his release, Kejriwal is expected to resume his political activities and continue his fight against the alleged “political vendetta” he claims to have faced.
