**Hyderabad:** PAC Chairman Arekapudi Gandhi has severely criticized Telangana MLA Koushik Reddy, accusing him of attempting to create regional discord. Gandhi’s remarks came in response to Reddy’s controversial comments, which he deemed disrespectful to women and inflammatory.
“Did the TRS party give Koushik Reddy any position? Is there no one in the party who can speak to me?” questioned Gandhi. He further condemned Reddy’s remarks about sarees and bangles, calling them demeaning to women across the country.
“What does it mean to say, ‘I’ll come to your house, cover you with a shawl, and take you away?'” he asked, emphasizing Reddy’s intention to incite unrest among the people. “Koushik Reddy’s rowdyism is unacceptable. He must change his behavior,” Gandhi asserted.
He revealed that he felt compelled to respond to Reddy’s provocation, noting that TRS leaders had attacked him and his colleagues. He claimed that no retaliatory action was taken by his side.
“When I went to his house, he threw stones and flowerpots at me,” Gandhi shared. “The people of Serilingampally constituency know me well. That’s why they elected me as MLA thrice.”
While expressing his respect for KCR, Gandhi criticized Koushik Reddy’s conduct, stating that it was damaging the party’s reputation. “KCR has always been a source of respect and inspiration. However, individuals like Koushik Reddy with their uncontrolled tongues are bringing disrepute to the party. Such people are the reason behind our loss of power,” he concluded.
