Wed Sep 11 17:14:41 UTC 2024: ## Yogi Adityanath Accuses Rahul Gandhi of Pushing India Towards Civil War
**Lucknow, India:** Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing attack on Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, accusing him of trying to disrupt India’s unity and push the country towards civil war.
Adityanath, referring to Gandhi as the “Crown Prince of Congress,” said Gandhi’s meeting with US lawmaker Ilhan Omar, known for her anti-India stance, showed his intention to align with separatist groups. Omar has previously made statements sympathetic to the Muslim Brotherhood and ISI, and visited Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir.
Adityanath further condemned Gandhi’s statement about scrapping reservations in India, claiming it was a conspiracy to abolish reservation for backward classes. He also criticized Gandhi’s recent remarks about the Sikh community, accusing him of creating a divide within the country.
Gandhi, while addressing Indian-Americans in Washington DC, had raised concerns about the alleged discrimination against Sikhs in India, citing the issue of turbans and kada. This triggered a protest by members of the Delhi BJP’s Sikh cell who accused Gandhi of playing divisive politics.
Union Minister Hardeep Puri hit back at Gandhi, reminding him that the fear and anxiety within the Sikh community regarding their identity had been the result of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
Adityanath, calling on Gandhi to apologize to the nation, stated that the BJP government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is dedicated to the upliftment of marginalized communities and will stand against any forces seeking to divide India.
