**Boston, MA** – The Boston Red Sox secured a dramatic 5-3 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday night, thanks to a game-winning three-run homer by Tyler O’Neill in the bottom of the 10th inning. O’Neill’s clutch hit capped off a back-and-forth contest that saw both teams trade leads throughout the game.

The Orioles took an early 1-0 lead in the 3rd inning on a solo home run by Emmanuel Rivera. Boston tied the game in the bottom of the inning on an infield single by Wilyer Abreu, capitalizing on an error by Rivera. The Red Sox then took a 2-1 lead in the 4th inning on a two-out single by Cedanne Rafaela.

Baltimore tied the game in the 8th inning when Anthony Santander launched his 41st home run of the season. The Orioles then took a 3-2 lead in the 10th inning on an RBI single by Rivera. However, the Red Sox responded in the bottom of the inning, with O’Neill’s heroics securing the victory.

“It’s huge,” said Red Sox manager Alex Cora. “We’ve been pitching well, and hopefully we can start hitting again.”

Despite the loss, the Orioles remain in contention for the AL East title, trailing the Yankees by 1.5 games. The Red Sox, however, remain four games behind Minnesota for the final Wild Card spot.

The Red Sox will now face the New York Yankees in a four-game series, while the Orioles head to Detroit for a three-game series.
