The singer, who previously supported President Joe Biden in 2020, praised Harris’s leadership and contrasted her with Trump’s chaotic approach. She also complimented Harris’s running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, for his long-standing support of LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and women’s reproductive rights.

Swift’s endorsement was spurred in part by a fake AI image of her endorsing Trump that was posted on his website. This incident, she said, “convinced me to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter.”

Trump, in response to Swift’s endorsement, dismissed her as a “very liberal person” and suggested she would face consequences in the marketplace. Meanwhile, Elon Musk, a known Trump supporter and father of 12, jokingly offered to give Swift a child and protect her cats.

While some experts believe Swift’s endorsement may not significantly impact the election, it has undoubtedly energized her fanbase and increased voter registration.

Swift’s intervention comes after a heated debate between Trump and Harris, touching on issues such as abortion, the economy, and immigration.

This is not the first time Swift has endorsed a Democratic candidate. In 2020, she publicly voiced her support for Biden and Harris, and was a vocal critic of Trump during his presidency, particularly regarding his response to racial injustice.
