**Bath, UK** – Weston High Street has reopened to traffic after a twelve-week closure for safety and accessibility improvements. Bath & North East Somerset Council completed a range of upgrades, including:

* Resurfacing and widening the footway
* Installing pedestrian safety barriers and new street lighting
* Removing redundant street furniture and bollards
* Upgrading the drainage system
* Resurfacing the highway

Pedestrian access to businesses and homes remained open throughout the project.

Councillor Manda Rigby, Cabinet Member for Transport, expressed satisfaction with the results: “These improvements will benefit the street for years to come, and I’d like to thank the local businesses and residents for their patience during the works.”

The council also installed a new zebra crossing on Crown Road, further enhancing pedestrian safety in the area. These improvements are expected to benefit those working, living, and visiting Weston High Street.
