The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is launching a new initiative to support early career scientists conducting global cancer research. This initiative aims to address the growing burden of cancer in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), where cancer death rates are higher than for AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria combined.

**The NCI is specifically seeking applications from:**

* **Early career investigators:** Proposing mentored research projects focusing on cancer prevention and control in LMICs.
* **Established investigators:** Committed to global cancer research education in LMICs.

**Research topics of interest include:**

* Cancer biology and genetics
* Cancer epidemiology
* Cancer prevention and treatment
* Implementation science and health systems research
* Health disparities
* Cancer informatics research
* Integrative oncology and cancer survivorship
* Technology-based solutions (mHealth and eHealth)

**The NCI hopes to:**

* Build a diverse workforce equipped to address global cancer challenges.
* Develop context-specific evidence to guide cancer prevention and control efforts in LMICs.
* Strengthen research capacity in LMICs, fostering equity in global collaborations.
