Tue Sep 10 17:05:55 UTC 2024: ## Man Remanded on Bail in Connection with Death of Limerick Woman

**Limerick, Ireland -** Patrick Lawlor (50s) was remanded on bail today after appearing in Limerick District Court charged with assault causing harm to 54-year-old Louise Muckell. Ms. Muckell, a former music teacher and accomplished pianist, was found dead in Rathkeale, Co Limerick on July 19, 2022, after sustaining serious injuries.

Lawlor, with an address at Upper Mallow Street, Limerick City, was arrested earlier today in connection with the investigation into Ms. Muckell’s death. He did not respond when charged with the offense.

Judge Mark O’Connell granted Lawlor free legal aid and bail under strict conditions, including residing at his address, no contact with Ms. Muckell’s family or witnesses, and providing his mobile phone number to Gardaí. The DPP has consented to Lawlor being sent forward for trial to the Limerick Circuit Criminal Court.

The matter was remanded for mention before Limerick District Court on October 23rd for preparation of the State’s Book of Evidence.
