**ISLAMABAD: **The brother of Special Judge Central Humayun Dilawar, Sadiq Dilawar, has been granted protective bail by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday. This comes amidst an ongoing corruption investigation against the judge and his family in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa filed a case against Judge Dilawar, his father, uncle, and brother on Monday, alleging charges of corruption under various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code and Prevention of Corruption Act. Arrest warrants were issued by a Bannu judicial magistrate on Tuesday, just a day after Judge Dilawar convicted PTI Chairman Imran Khan in a separate case related to the Toshkhana gifts.
Sadiq Dilawar, through his lawyer, sought protective bail to enable him to appear before the court in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The IHC granted his request and directed him to present himself to the court of competent jurisdiction.
The timing of the arrest warrants and the ongoing corruption probe against Judge Dilawar’s family has raised eyebrows, particularly given his recent ruling against Imran Khan.
