**CALGARY, ALBERTA** – The highly anticipated JonBenét Ramsey limited series on Paramount+ has secured four new stars for its cast. Joining previously announced leads Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen are Garrett Hedlund, Alison Pill, Emily Mitchell, and Owen Teague. Production is set to begin soon in Calgary, Alberta.
The series will explore the story of the Ramsey family before and after the tragic death of their daughter, JonBenét. The narrative focuses on Patsy (McCarthy) and John Ramsey (Owen), their unbreakable partnership, and the impact of the media frenzy that surrounded the case.
Emily Mitchell will portray JonBenét Ramsey. Mitchell is known for her roles in films like “Ordinary Angels” and “Priscilla” and TV shows like “What We Do in the Shadows” and “Ghosts”.
Garrett Hedlund will play Detective Steve Thomas, a seasoned investigator brought in to work on the JonBenét case. Hedlund currently stars in Paramount+’s mobster series “Tulsa King” and is recognized for his roles in films like “Four Brothers” and “Tron: Legacy”.
Alison Pill will portray Detective Linda Arndt, one of the first officers on the scene after JonBenét’s disappearance. Pill previously starred in “Star Trek: Picard” and recently reprised her role from “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” in the Netflix animated series “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off”.
Owen Teague will play Jeff Shapiro, a cocky reporter for the Globe tabloid. Teague recently starred in “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” and the two new “It” films. He also appeared in the miniseries “The Stand” and shows like “Mrs. Fletcher” and “Bloodline”.
Richard LaGravense, Harrison Query, and Tommy Wallach are writers and executive producers on the series. Anne Sewitsky will direct four of the eight episodes. David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, and David Hutkin of 101 Studios also serve as executive producers, along with Melissa McCarthy.
