**Le Castellet, France -** The BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team is gearing up for a thrilling showdown at the 2024 FIM Endurance World Championship’s final race, the 24-hour Bol d’Or, taking place from September 12th to 15th.
Currently sitting third in the championship standings, the team, led by Werner Daemen, is 44 points behind the leaders with 65 points up for grabs in the season finale.
The #37 BMW M 1000 RR will be piloted by Markus Reiterberger, Ilya Mikhalchik, and Hannes Soomer. Soomer replaces Sylvain Guintoli, who is unable to participate due to personal reasons. Jan-Ole Jähnig will act as the fourth rider for the team.
Sven Blusch, Head of BMW Motorrad Motorsport, expressed excitement for the intense finale: “The BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team will give it their all to keep the title fight open until the very end.”
The team is confident, as Team Manager Werner Daemen said, “We have a very good and very reliable bike. We always aim for the podium or even the win and that is possible at the Bol d’Or.”
The riders are also optimistic about their chances. Markus Reiterberger emphasized the team’s preparedness and the bike’s suitability for the track. Ilya Mikhalchik is excited to fight for maximum points in qualifying and deliver a consistent performance throughout the race. Hannes Soomer is focused on establishing a strong race pace and learning from his teammates.
In the Superstock class, Team Étoile, Tecmas-MRP-BMW Racing, and HERT by Moto Jungel are also aiming for success with their respective BMW M 1000 RR machines.
The official sessions for the race weekend begin on Thursday, September 12th, with the 87th edition of the Bol d’Or kicking off at 15:00 on Saturday, September 14th. The checkered flag will fall 24 hours later.
