**New Delhi:** Lok Sabha MP Engineer Rashid was released on bail Wednesday, just a day after a Delhi court granted him interim bail in a terror funding case. The additional sessions judge, Chandarjit Singh, granted Rashid bail on Tuesday to allow him to campaign for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections.

Rashid, an Independent candidate, defeated former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in the Baramulla seat during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. His party, the Awami Ittehad Party (AIP), is contesting the upcoming assembly polls. The three-phase elections for the 90-member J&K assembly are scheduled between September 18 and October 1, with results expected on October 8.

The judge granted bail on a personal bond of ₹2 lakh and a surety of the same amount. The court also imposed conditions on the MP, including refraining from speaking to the media about the case.

This development comes as the J&K Assembly elections heat up, with several political parties gearing up for a fierce campaign.
